OUR CURRICULUM

 

At Starville, we have structured our curiculum through a pedalogical approach named, PLEASE - Passion, Learning,Explore,Aspire,Social and Emotional.



Our centre has developed this curiculum with the help of other pedagogies. Our aim was to provide a platform for the children to grow as positive and happy children that are inquisitive, confident and responsible. Hence, we created PLEASE, which we believe can empower the children's development.

 

P - Passion : Experiences planned to evoke positive feelings such as interest, motivation, independence and especially passion for learning.

 

L - Learning : Providing situations for children to use the knowledge that they have recently acquired. This would encourage critical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

 

E - Explore : Self-exploration emphasise on experience and experimentation. It gives children the chance to make discoveries and connections on their own and this could enhance their intellectual curiosity.

 

A - Aspire : The children depend deeply on the teachers for moral guidance and support and as a role model, it is important to show that the values we teach are practiced by us too.

 

S - Social : Our teacher-student ratio is designed to allow the children have as much exposure to their peers but still be able to get our attention when needed. Their interactions will build self-confidence and autonomy.

 

E - Emotional : As much as we focus on academics, it is important to work on the child's emotions as they are not use to regulating their own feelings. This is where the teachers step in to explain to them what they are feeling and what they should do with that feeling.
